Many years ago we reconstructed our Manuballista after the find from the ancient Roman harbour basin in Xanten. Now the original and the replica will be on display together: As part of the Archaeological State Exhibition of North Rhine-Westphalia 2021/2022 "Rome's Flowing Frontiers" (https://www.roemer.nrw/), the Haltern Roman Museum will be showing both pieces side by side from the end of March. We did the last cleaning work yesterday and our manuballista will then travel to Haltern next week. Nevertheless, no one will have to live without shooting demonstrations, because when we are in action, the good piece will be taken out of the exhibition for the respective weekend.
